UNIT 1: BASIC NOTATIONS
Introduction to vibration problems, terminologies, simple harmonic motions, equation of motion of a vibrating system, Newtons laws of motion, Energy methods, D’Alemberts Principle.

UNIT 2 : SINGLE DEGREE OF FREEDOM SYSTEM
Free and forced vibrations with and without damping, support excitation, resonance, transmissibility, vibration isolation, vibration Measuring instruments.

UNIT 3 : MULTI DEGREE OF FREEDOM SYSTEM
Two degrees of freedom systems, static and dynamic couplings, vibration absorber, principal coordinates, Principal modes and orthogonal conditions, Eigenvalue problems, Hamiltons principle, Lagrangean equations and application. Vibration of elastic bodies, Basic MATLAB Implementation, Aircraft Wing as a Vibrating System.

UNIT 4 : APPROXIMATE METHODS
Approximate methods, Rayleighs method, Dunkerlays method, Holzer Method, matrix iteration method, Comparison of Approximate Vibration Techniques, Computational solutions of approximate methods

UNIT 5 : ELEMENTS OF AEROELASTICITY
Aeroelastic problems, Static and Dynamic Aeroelasticity, Collars aeroelastic triangle, wing divergence, aileron control reversal, flutter, buffeting, elements of Servo elasticity, Aeroelastic case studies.
