1613-Obstetrics and Gynaecology
About Course
Upon completion of this course in Obstetrics, Genecology and Neonatology, students will apply comprehensive knowledge of pelvic anatomy, fetal skull, physiological changes in pregnancy/menopause, and common pathologies (infections, tumours, endometriosis, infertility, PCOD) to accurately diagnose obstetric and gynaecological conditions. They will analyse high-risk pregnancies, labour abnormalities, third-stage complications, neonatal emergencies (RDS, meconium aspiration, jaundice, birth injuries) and urinary disorders, then evaluate appropriate investigations (ultrasound, Pap smear, partogram, fetal monitoring) and management strategies (active labour management, instrumental deliveries, LSCS, Rh iso-immunisation, cancer screening, radiotherapy/chemotherapy). Finally, students will create integrated care plans for antenatal surveillance, neonatal resuscitation, and prevention of vertical transmission, demonstrating clinical competence at BloomÙs levels of apply, analyse, evaluate and create for safe, evidence-based practice.
