Syllabus – 1401 – Anatomy

1401 – Anatomy

UNIT – I

Introduction to Anatomy (4 Hours): Scope of anatomy; basic anatomical terminology (planes, directions, regions); organization of the human body (cells, tissues, organs).

UNIT – II 

Thorax (8 Hours): Bony thoracic cage (ribs, sternum, thoracic vertebrae); intercostal spaces; pleura and pleural cavities.

UNIT – III

Cardiovascular System (12 Hours): Surface anatomy of the heart; chambers, valves, and septa; major blood vessels (aorta, vena cavae, pulmonary vessels); pericardium; coronary arteries and venous drainage.

UNIT – IV 

Respiratory System (8 Hours): Trachea and bronchial tree; lungs (lobes, fissures, bronchi, vasculature); diaphragmatic anatomy.

UNIT – V 

Excretory and Related Systems (8 Hours): Kidneys (g***s structure, nephrons); ureters and bladder; basic liver anatomy (lobes, vascular supply) with relevance to systemic circulation.
