Course Objectives:

1. To understand the basic principles of pharmacology, including drug classification, sources, and mechanisms of action.

2. To study pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics for safe and effective drug administration.

3. To gain knowledge of drugs used in anaesthesia, including sedatives, analgesics, muscle relaxants, and emergency drugs.

4. To identify indications, contraindications, and side effects of commonly used drugs in surgical settings.

5. To develop safe drug handling and administration practices in operation theatre and critical care areas.

6. To understand drug interactions and emergency drug management for patient safety during surgical procedures.
