About Course

This course equips students with knowledge of general and systemic pathology, focusing on cardiovascular, pulmonary, and renal disease processes critical to perfusion technology. Topics cover cardiovascular pathology (atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathies, valvular diseases, congenital defects), respiratory pathology (obstructive/restrictive lung diseases, pulmonary thromboembolism, ARDS), and renal pathology (glomerulonephritis, acute/chronic kidney injury, renal vascular diseases, tubular disorders). Emphasis is placed on histopathological changes, diagnostic correlations, and their impact on CPB strategies. Delivered through lectures, microscopy sessions, and case studies linking pathology to perfusion practice.
