About Course

The Cardiopulmonary Bypass and Perfusion Technology course provides fundamental knowledge and practical understanding of extracorporeal circulation used in cardiac and major vascular surgeries. It covers the principles, equipment, and operation of the heartÓlung machine and other perfusion devices.

Students learn the physiology of cardiopulmonary circulation, principles of perfusion, and management of hemodynamic and metabolic parameters during cardiopulmonary bypass. The course also introduces patient preparation, anticoagulation management, perfusion monitoring, along with advanced techniques such as hypothermia, myocardial protection and ultrafiltration

By the end of the course, students will be able to assist in perfusion procedures, operate perfusion equipment under supervision, monitor patient parameters, and apply safety protocols in clinical practice.
