About Course
- The Surgery course provides students with fundamental knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of surgical care. It focuses on the basic concepts of surgical diseases, diagnostic methods, pre-operative and post-operative management, and principles of surgical treatment.
- This course introduces students to common surgical conditions affecting different body systems, including infections, trauma, tumors, wounds, and congenital abnormalities. Students will learn about the principles of asepsis, sterilization, wound healing, fluid and electrolyte balance, and pain management that are essential for safe surgical practice.
- The course also emphasizes patient assessment, surgical procedures, and perioperative care, including preparation of patients before surgery and monitoring during the recovery period. Basic knowledge of emergency surgical management and first aid for conditions such as bleeding, fractures, burns, and shock is also included.
- Through this course, students will develop an understanding of clinical decision-making, surgical safety, and patient-centered care. By the end of the course, learners will be able to identify common surgical conditions, understand their management, and assist effectively in surgical and postoperative patient care.
