About Course

Strength of Materials (SOM) is a core subject in mechanical, civil, and structural engineering that deals with the behavior of solid materials under different types of loads and forces. It helps engineers understand how materials deform, resist loads, and eventually fail when subjected to stresses such as tension, compression, shear, bending, and torsion.

The subject focuses on analyzing the strength, stiffness, and stability of structural elements like bars, beams, shafts, and columns.
