Maths (Section A,B and C)
About Course
This Grade 4 Mathematics course is designed to build a strong foundation in essential mathematical concepts through engaging and practical learning experiences. The course encourages students to explore, understand, and apply mathematics in their everyday lives.
The course begins with Shapes Around Us, where students identify and describe 2D and 3D shapes found in their surroundings, helping them connect geometry with real-world objects.
In the Numbers unit, students work with numbers up to 5 digits. They learn place value, number formation, comparison, and ordering. This unit also covers the four basic operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—enabling students to solve a variety of numerical problems with confidence.
Students are introduced to Factors and Multiples, developing an understanding of number relationships. Building on this, they explore LCM (Least Common Multiple) and HCF (Highest Common Factor) to strengthen their problem-solving skills.
The Measurement unit teaches students to measure length, weight, and capacity using standard units. They also learn to calculate Area and Perimeter, helping them understand space and dimensions in practical contexts.
In the Time unit, students learn to read clocks, understand durations, and solve problems involving time intervals, enhancing their daily time management skills.
Finally, the course introduces Bar Graphs, where students learn to represent and interpret data visually. This helps develop analytical thinking and the ability to draw conclusions from information.
Overall, this course promotes logical thinking, accuracy, and confidence in mathematics through interactive activities, real-life examples, and problem-solving exercises.
