UNIT 1 – BASIC DRUG EFFECT
Common Drugs – Effects and Side Effects, Drug Interactions, Route of Drug Administration, Intravenous Fluids.

UNIT 2 – CLASSIFICATION OF DRUGS ACTING ON NERVES, HEART AND BLOOD PRESSURE
Drugs Acting on Nerves – Anticonvulsants, Sedatives, Anxiolytic Agents, Neuromuscular Blocking Agents. Drugs Acting on Heart – Anti Anginal Drugs, Anti Arrhythmic Drugs, Anti Failure Agents, Thrombolytic Therapy, Inotropes. Drugs Acting on Blood Pressure – Alpha Blockers, Beta Blockers, Calcium Channel Blockers, Vasodilators.

UNIT 3 – CLASSIFICATION OF DRUGS ACTING ON RESPIRATORY SYSTEM, GASTROINTESTINAL SYSTEM AND KIDNEYS
Drugs Acting on Respiratory System – Bronchodilators, Anti histamines, Anti Tussive, Anti Tuberculosis Drugs, Oxygen Therapy. Drugs Acting on Gastrointestinal System – Antacids, Anti emetics, Antidiarrheal agents, PPI, H2 Blockers, Laxatives Oral Rehydration Solution. Drugs Acting on Kidney – Diuretics.

UNIT 4 – CLASSIFICATION OF DRUGS ACTING ON MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM AND HORMONES
Drugs Acting on Musculoskeletal System – Muscle Relaxants, Analgesics, NSIAD. Hormones, Insulin and Oral Hypoglycemic Agents.
