Cricket is a popular and historic sport played by millions of people, especially in countries like England, India, Australia, and South Africa. The game is played on a large grass field between two teams of eleven players each. At the center of the field is a special rectangular strip called the pitch.

The main action happens between a bowler and a batsman. The bowler throws a hard leather ball down the pitch toward three wooden sticks called the wicket. The batsman tries to hit the ball with a flat wooden bat to protect the wicket and score runs.

To score runs, the batsman hits the ball and runs back and forth to the opposite end of the pitch. If the batsman hits the ball all the way to the boundary line on the edge of the field, they get four runs. If the ball flies over the line without touching the ground, they get six runs!

Meanwhile, the other team tries to get the batsmen “out” by catching the ball in the air or hitting the wickets. Cricket is a wonderful game that requires great skill, strategy, and teamwork, bringing fans together all summer long
