      Bruno Farnandes

Bruno Fernandes is a super cool soccer player! He plays for Manchester United and Portugal. He was born on September 8, 1994, in a place called Maia in Portugal. That’s like 31 years ago now. He loves soccer so much he played it on the streets with his big brother Ricardo when he was little. His dad wanted him to move to Switzerland for work, but Bruno said no cuz he loved Portuguese soccer better.

When Bruno was a kid, he started at a small club called Infesta. Then he went to Boavista, not Porto, even though Porto wanted him. Boavista gave him rides to practice, which was nice for his family. He was a defender at first, like stopping the other team, but when he was 15 he became an attacking midfielder. That’s the fun part where you score goals and help your friends!

Bruno’s first big pro games were in Italy. He played for Novara in 2012, then Udinese and Sampdoria. In 2017, he went back to Portugal for Sporting CP. Wow, he was awesome there! He scored 33 goals one season—that’s the most for a midfielder in Europe! He won cups like Taça da Liga twice and was the best player in his league two years in a row.

Then in 2020, Manchester United bought him for lots of money, like 55 million euros! He became captain and helped win the FA Cup and EFL Cup. He makes super passes, scores from far away, and runs everywhere. Fans love him cuz he’s always trying hard, even when the team loses. He played in the World Cup 2018 and 2022, Euros 2020 and 2024, and won the Nations League twice with Portugal.

Bruno has a wife and kids. His son even did a school project about him—how cute! They call him “little onion” from when he was chubby as a kid. He wears number 8 cuz it’s special to him. Now in 2026, he’s still at United, leading and maybe thinking about coaching later. He’s like a hero to kids who dream of soccer stardom!

He’s not perfect—he gets mad sometimes and argues with refs, like when he was young. But that’s cuz he cares so much. Bruno shows you can start small and be the best if you work hard. I wish I could kick like him! Go Bruno!
