ARTICLE-1 : THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON TEEN MENTAL HEALTH.

Social media has become an inseparable part of teenage life, influencing how young people communicate, learn, and view themselves. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat provide spaces where teens can express creativity, stay connected with friends, and explore new ideas. In many ways, this can have a positive impact, helping them feel supported and less alone.

However, the effects are not always beneficial. Excessive use of social media can negatively impact m****l health. Constant exposure to carefully edited photos and videos often leads to unrealistic comparisons, making teens feel insecure about their appearance or lifestyle. This can lower self-esteem and contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression. Additionally, issues like cyberbullying and online pressure to gain likes or followers can further increase stress.

Another concern is the amount of time spent online. Spending hours scrolling can reduce sleep quality, affect academic performance, and limit real-life interactions. This imbalance may lead to feelings of loneliness, even though teens are constantly “connected.”

Despite these challenges, social media is not entirely harmful. When used responsibly, it can offer support networks, educational content, and a sense of belonging. The key is balance—setting limits, taking breaks, and focusing on real-world relationships. By using social media mindfully, teenagers can enjoy its benefits while protecting their m****l well-being.
