      IMPORTANCE OF FOREST

Forests are far more than just groups of trees they are essential for life on Earth in many ways.First, forests act as the planet’s lungs. Through Photosynthesis, trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, helping us breathe and reducing air pollution. They also play a major role in controlling climate. Forests store huge amounts of carbon, which helps slow down global warming. Without them, problems like Climate Change would become much worse.Forests are home to countless plants and animals. This rich variety of life is called Biodiversity, and it keeps ecosystems balanced and healthy.

Another important role is protecting soil and water. Tree roots hold the soil together, preventing erosion and floods. Forests also help maintain the Water Cycle by absorbing rain and releasing moisture into the air.In addition, forests provide resources for humans—such as food, medicine, wood, and shelter—and support the livelihoods of millions of people.

In short, forests are vital for clean air, stable climate, wildlife survival, and human well-being. Protecting them is not just important—it’s necessary for our future.
